'Little Wanderer', uit de droomwereld van William Blake, leek de perfecte titel voor een album waarin we omringd worden door talloze landschappen in liederen van Benjamin Britten, Imogen Holst en Daniel Kidane. Sinds onze eerste dag aan het Royal College of Music hebben we al lang genoten van het programmeren van Brittens meesterlijke herinterpretaties van volksliedjes, en we zijn dol op de teksten en muziek in zijn krachtige Hardy-cyclus Winter Words. Het was een genot om liederen te ontdekken van Imogen Holst, Brittens goede vriend en assistent, en we zijn er trots op de eerste opname te kunnen maken van Dans Songs of Illumination, in opdracht van Leeds Lieder in 2018. Al meer dan tien jaar speelt Engelstalig lied een belangrijke rol in ons muzikale leven en onze relatie als uitvoerend musicus, en we zijn verheugd dit programma samen te presenteren.
