To mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, Canadian composer Petros Shoujounian composed our string quartets, all of which are recorded here. The quartets are based on Armenian liturgical chants, and each movement is named after a river in Armenia. Shoujounian studied at the Conservatoire de musique du Quebec a Montreal with world-renowned composer Gilles Tremblay.
