Gwyneth Wentink
Gwyneth Wentink (Utrecht, 1981) is a Dutch harpist. She is the daughter of Hungarian and Dutch parents who are also musicians themselves.
Gwyneth received her first harp lessons at the age of five. She studied under Erika Waardenburg at the Utrechts Conservatorium, where she obtained her final examination diploma as a performing musician with the highest possible marks with distinction in 2000.
At the age of eight, she already performed at De Doelen in Rotterdam, Mozart's concerto for flute and harp together with Abbie de Quant and the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest under the direction of Viktor Liberman. When she was 10 years old, she performed for Queen Beatrix.
As a soloist with orchestra, she performed in concerts with I Fiamminghi, the Orquesta Sinfonica Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho in Caracas, Venezuela, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Joel Lévy, the Nieuw Sinfonietta Amsterdam, with the Südwest Rundfunk Orchester in Germany (among others at the Alter Oper in Frankfurt and the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden), the Philharmonisch Orkest van Bergen under the direction of Simone Young, the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, the Radio Kamerorkest under the direction of Peter Eötvös, the Nationaal Symfonie Orkest in Bucharest, the Rotterdams Kamerorkest and the Brabants Orkest, the Finnish Philharmonik Orchestra in Helsinki, the Nationaal Orkest van België, the Wereld Jeugd Orkest and the New York Chamber Symphony under the direction of Jorge Mester, where she performed in 2001 in New…
