Reinoud Van Mechelen

Reinoud Van Mechelen (Leuven, 1987) is a Belgian tenor from Flemish Brabant.

Van Mechelen began his musical career at an early age by singing with the children's choir Clari Cantuli. At eighteen, he started taking singing lessons at the Leuven municipal conservatory with Anne Mertens and Nicolas Achten.
The following year he began his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Lena Lootens. After completing his bachelor's degree, he continued under the guidance of Dina Grossberger.
He follows various masterclass modules and courses to further perfect his skills. The most important ones with:

He regularly works as a soloist and ensemble singer. He was part of, among others, Le Jardin des Voix, Les Arts Florissants, Frascati Vocal and performed at the Rouen opera house, the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and the Edinburgh Festival.
Van Mechelen possesses a soft, high tenor voice which is very suitable for French Baroque music.

In 2016, Van Mechelen founded his own ensemble A Nocte Temporis. He wants to perform historically informed music.
