Valère Burnon
Valère Burnon (Marche-en-Famenne, 31 August 1998) is a Belgian classical pianist, laureate of numerous international piano competitions and third laureate of the Koningin Elisabeth competition in 2025.
Valère began learning violin at the age of six, but switched to piano a few months later. He received his first piano lessons from Émilie Chenoy in Marche‑en‑Famenne, after which he was taught for almost ten years by Marie‑Paule Cornia at the conservatories of Huy and Liège. In addition to piano, he continued to play violin with various youth orchestras in Namur and Louvain-la-Neuve.
In 2016 Burnon started his bachelor studies in piano at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Luik with Jean Schils, Marie‑Paule Cornia, François Thiry and Étienne Rappe. He graduated in 2018. In October 2019 he continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Florence Millet, where he obtained his Master of Music with great distinction in 2021. In September 2021 he was admitted to the Accademia Internazionale di Imola in Imola (Italy), in the class of Leonid Margarius. Since April 2022 he has been artist-in-residence at the Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth in Waterloo, where he is mentored by Frank Braley, Avedis Kouyoumdjian and Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden.
