Veerle Peeters
Veerle Peeters (1978) is a Belgian pianist.
She studied at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven and graduated with the highest distinction. During her studies, she became a laureate of various competitions, such as Cantabile in Antwerpen and "Stephan De Jonghe" in Aalst. In 2002 she founded the chamber music ensemble Frescamente. The ensemble was laureate in 2006 in the 'Gouden Vleugels' competition for young talent in classical music (an organization of the Vlaams Muziekcentrum, Jeugd en Muziek Vlaanderen, radio Klara, the ministry of the Flemish Community and the sponsors KBC and De Standaard). After this competition, she had the opportunity to give a concert series with pianist Jan Vermeulen in Flanders. In the same year, Veerle with Frescamente became laureate of the International Chamber Music Competition of Almere.
She is a regular guest on the radio station Klara. Both to perform (for example at Klara Boetiek, edition 2017) and to provide commentary. Her performances with Jan Vermeulen are also broadcast by NPO Radio4.
As of 2020, she is employed as a piano teacher at the Gemeentelijke Academie voor Muziek-Woord-Dans in Heist-op-den-Berg and gives concerts in Europe together with Jan Vermeulen.
She converted the teaching method together with Jan Vermeulen into a workbook for teachers and students.
