The 2025 – 2026 concert season of the Grand Manège – Namur Concert Hall (NCH) confirms the ambition of this exceptional concert hall to develop into a leading musical centre, not only in Wallonia, but throughout the entire Belgian cultural landscape. With programming ranging from early Baroque to contemporary creation, from grand orchestral works to intimate family performances, the NCH positions itself as a meeting place for connoisseurs, enthusiasts and young discoverers.
One of the central figures this season is once again Leonardo García Alarcón, who not only brings his internationally renowned ensemble Cappella Mediterranea to Namur, but also conducts various large-scale projects. As cultural ambassador of the city of Namur, appointed in 2024, he continues to champion artistic quality and cultural impact. Under his leadership, visitors can look forward to, among others, a colourful and dramatic performance of Handel's "Acis and Galatea", in which the pastoral splendour of the Baroque comes to life in a scenic context.
Among the many other highlights are:
A moving tribute to the film music of Tim Burton, brought by the Quatuor Debussy, in which music and image enter into dialogue.
"Le Voyage de Charlie", a poetic narrative in sound and word for a broad audience, with soprano Juliette Allen and Ensemble Tropismes.
Piano recitals of international standing with, among others, Dan Tepfer, Nelson Goerner and Lucas Debargue.
Grand symphonic work with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, including a performance of Bruckner's Eighth Symphony.
The Grand Manège continues to take seriously its role as a cultural venue for young generations. For children aged 0 to 6, there are beautiful productions such as "Territoires Sonores" and "Drôles d'Oizo", in which sound, dance and discovery take centre stage. The successful formula "Les Natines" continues: Sunday mornings with musical performances, workshops and treats for the whole family. Moreover, the monthly musical workshops for babies and toddlers offer moments of connection and growth through music, led by specialised educators such as Marine Thollembeck.
With this broad range of concerts, family performances, educational initiatives and innovative projects, Namur Concert Hall confirms its place as one of Belgium's most versatile and dynamic music venues.
