Six young and promising ensembles are eager to introduce themselves and their musical abilities to you, valued music lover! A professional jury selected these six over the past weeks from 22 ensembles. This summer, the chosen lucky ones will be intensively guided and coached for several days by Raquel Andueza and Robert Hollingworth, who will provide guidance on the (musical) narrative the ensembles wish to tell, programme structure and audience interaction.
Expect a varied musical journey: a programme in which preludes take centre stage, or songs by Orlando Lassus that reveal the satirical side of 16th-century society. From a musical journey along a pilgrimage route with music in honour of the Virgin Mary, via Baroque music for flute and plucked instruments, to a concert based on a successful concert series by Johann Christian Bach and Carl Friedrich Abel or the performance of Schumann's third string quartet. In any case, six times a fresh perspective on historical instruments, sources and performance.
"With IYAP, young, promising European musicians get a prominent place within Laus Polyphoniae. In this way, AMUZ together with Musica Impulscentrum wants to encourage musicians in their further professionalisation and thus increase their access to international career opportunities," says Bart Demuyt, director and artistic leader of AMUZ. "Moreover, the European story remains important for AMUZ."
