The MA Competition, a renowned international music competition that has existed since 1964, welcomes an exceptionally talented group of young musicians in Brugge this year. Each year, this competition offers a platform for talented young musicians from all over the world to showcase their skills and engage in dialogue with professionals in the field of early music.
The competition has produced many renowned musicians in the past, including Christophe Rousset, Kristian Bezuidenhout and Dmitry Sinkovsky. This year the focus is on the pianoforte, with a selection of twelve talented candidates from different parts of the world.
As usual, the first round took place digitally, with the jury and public getting to know the participants via an online streaming platform. These are the 12 selected candidates:
