Artistic curiosity is the main driving force of the ensemble "Les Connivences Sonores". For seven years, flutist Odile Renault and harpist Elodie Reibod have been searching the repertoire for original compositions for this ensemble, making many discoveries, especially in works from the first half of the 20th century. A select and representative selection from this rich treasure now crowns their debut CD on the ARS label.
Odile Renault and Elodie Reibaud came together as a duo in 2014 and have since been exploring the possibilities of their instrumental combination. Odile Renault and Elodie Reibaud are explicitly interested in compositions that were composed explicitly for these instruments and are not new arrangements of works originally intended for other instruments.
Given the diversity of musical influences and developments in the 20th century, the final selection for this recording must not have been an easy undertaking. The result is an appealing selection that lends a clear dramaturgy to the listening pleasure of this recording. Flute and harp step out of their purely pleasant role when Odile Renault and Elodie Reibaud engage in sensuous and powerful interactions on their instruments. The joint adventure of these two French musicians has already received much acclaim before it was realized, when a successful crowdfunding gave it a good start. The production was also supported by the "Bureau de Classique".
