Het Nederlands Kamerkoor opens the new season online, with the five-part video series The Personal Archive Sessions. Central to the series are the personal stories of the singers of Het Nederlands Kamerkoor. Together with their colleagues, they perform music of their own choosing and share intimate interviews about their craft and their lives.
Singing is brilliant and vulnerable. The singers of Het Nederlands Kamerkoor know this better than anyone. Who are these top performers of the international choral world? What drives them to bring out the best in themselves time and again, what moves them, what touches them? In The Personal Archive Sessions, the singers of Het Nederlands Kamerkoor tell their personal stories.
Tido Visser – artistic director: 'With The Personal Archive Sessions, we want to present brilliant music, but also introduce the singers of our choir in a different, more personal way to the viewer.'
In five episodes, they sing music of their own choosing and talk about their craft, their lives, their loves, about their brilliant vulnerability. The series was recorded on location in Zaandam. An intimate, living-room atmosphere provides the ideal setting for a series of personal conversations and intimate performances.
Between September 7 and October 5, Het Nederlands Kamerkoor publishes a new episode weekly on http://www.nederlandskamerkoor.nl. The videos can also be viewed on the choir's Youtube channel.
