Zele - Opera Ballet Vlaanderen offers theater and dance enthusiasts a golden opportunity: on 14 September, an exclusive stock sale takes place in the studios of Zele. This is not just any sale, but a unique chance to bring a piece of theater history into your home. From gigantic props to handmade costumes, everything must go.
The sale includes spectacular pieces that have graced the stage of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. Think of the impressive stuffed bull from Rumor or the gigantic inflatable rubber duck from Candide. For those seeking smaller memorabilia, there are household items such as candelabras, lamps and even a pool table.
The offer is diverse: more than four hundred costumes, including the iconic fat suits from Die Sieben Todsünden and beautiful handmade tutus, await a new owner. In addition, there are unique pieces such as the tuk-tuk in which Guido Belcanto drove around in Rasa and the chandeliers from Het Zwanenmeer.
Besides these striking objects, there are also practical items such as lighting equipment and chairs in all styles, ideal for theater companies or dance schools looking to expand their inventory. Each item carries a story with it, whether it recalls an emotional moment from an opera or was once intended for a production that never reached the stage.
For those who want to bring the magic of theater into their home or give their interior an artistic twist, this is the chance. Moreover, visitors get a unique glimpse behind the scenes of the design studio, normally not accessible to the public.
