After 10 editions, Nordic night - with performances by artists such as Jóhann Jóhannsson, Ólafur Arnalds, Efterklang, Agnes Obel, Emiliana Torrini, Jaga Jazzist and many others - had become a reference point for music from the north.
On that basis, Cultuurcentrum Hasselt (CCHA) decided in 2016 to evolve from a single concert evening into an annual four-day multidisciplinary arts festival that, as the leaves fall, focuses on the presentation and promotion of art forms from the High North and aims to foster cultural connections and dialogue between the North and our region.
At the end of October - when the days become shorter again and the nights longer - CCHA organizes the now third edition of its Nordic night(s). Once again, alongside a substantial portion of (post-)classical music, also pop 'n rock, dance, a family performance and literature from/about the High North.
Specially for the festival, the small parquet hall is once again transformed into a proper Nordic pop-up bar. With special decoration, adapted concerts, post-performance discussions … But you can also taste Nordic beers and snacks there. Or chat with the artists.
