The five winners of the International Carillon Competition Queen Fabiola are known. They were selected from fifteen candidates, anonymously (if only this were the case at all competitions) on the selection days 10 and 11 July 2024.
For two days the bronze bell sounds of the Sint-Romboutsbeiaard rang out over Mechelen. This will happen again on Saturday 13 July when the five winners, Claire Janezic (VS), Annie Gao (VS), Anne Lu (CAN), Oleksandra Makarova (UA), Joseph Min (VS) compete against each other. On Sunday 14 July there is then a completely different part of the competition: in the church of the former Minderbroedersklooster in Mechelen, the chamber carillon of the Koninklijke Beiaardschool is played.
