Anklam

His music is not descriptive, does not attempt to depict anything outside itself, tells no story other than its own. The album is called Anklam simply because it was recorded there. It is divided into twelve parts, merely to give it a conceivable structure. The parts have numbers because together they form a kind of larger musical whole. The real meaning, the inner beauty or the musical logic is left to the listener to discover, hear or feel. Fridolin Blumer opens a vast space of possibilities for understanding and realization by remaining as sober and elementary as possible. In this way, he creates a sound artwork that is both spiritual and deeply human.
