The pianist Sabine Weyer places two concertos for piano and strings by Bach alongside the double concerto by the young Mendelssohn. This is certainly not absurd, as the music of the Thomaskantor played a major role in his lessons with Carl Friedrich Zelter. Bach's influence on the young genius is thus audible.
