The young Spanish soprano Serena Sáenz has established herself in a few years as one of the most versatile artists of her generation and has been praised by the media for her "musicality and clear high notes" (Scherzo). She is a three-time winner of the Operalia competition in Riga 2022 and regularly performs in the world's leading opera houses. In 2021, Serena Sáenz won first prize and the audience prize at the Montserrat Caballé International Singing Competition and was honored with various prizes at both the Paris Opera Competition and the Francisco Viñas Competition in Barcelona. On her debut album, soprano Serena Sáenz focuses her song selection on musical arrangements of birdsong in opera arias and invites listeners on a journey through the centuries, combining the most diverse musical traditions and cultures and taking them to a world of timeless beauty. Among the many images that nature represents in music, birdsong occupies a special place.
