Barbara Hannigan, Grammy Award-winning artist and one of the most leading artists of the moment, leads an ensemble of outstanding young musicians from the Royal Academy of Music and the Juilliard School. Since 2002, the Academy and the Juilliard School, both internationally leading in their field, have had a special and fruitful partnership based on 20 years of joint performances, exchange programmes and recordings.
In this latest collaboration, Hannigan conducts students from both institutions in a complete Stravinsky programme that includes the Octet, "Dumbarton Oaks", "Ragtime" and "Three Japanese Songs". Hannigan, who was recently appointed Reinbert de Leeuw Professor of Music at the Academy, conducts the trans-Atlantic group in a delightfully refined and exhilarating programme of Stravinsky's most famous ensemble repertoire.
