The 3-cd box brings together three very different recordings of this music: a complete vespers with the chants for the feast of Maria's Birth, the second cd is devoted to Saint Bernard of Clairvaux and the third presents the chants of the Cistercian nuns, who - in contrast to their male brothers - spent their lives in complete seclusion behind the monastery walls.
