The search for unknown gems was always fueled by pianist/composer Manfred Schmitz (1939-2014), who introduced Patricia to, among others, Gisela Steineckert, Heinz Kahlau and the famous Brecht interpreter Gisela May (1924-2016), after which Patricia was able to attend around a dozen masterclasses. She was able to work personally with Hanns Eisler and Paul Dessau and had a wealth of first-hand information, but she has also performed the younger generation. Inspired by the German chanson, two of her own original Dutch-language creations have also been added to this CD. One from 1987 (Und so weiter…) with music by Frank Vercruysse and one from 2004 (Quellen der Wärme), which for the homogeneity of the CD have been translated into German together with Sabine Reifer.
