"In copisteria del Conte" is a project with two objectives: to rediscover music that sounds virtually unknown to ears today and to evoke the soundscape of Genua in the second half of the 18th century. The selected pieces come from the busy music copying workshop of Count Taccoli and establish a link between the compositions, their composers and the city of Genua. This double album presents a lively series of instrumentations - from intimate string quartets to delicate trios for violin, cello and psaltery - with greats such as Boccherini alongside hidden masters such as Gallucci and Ferrari. The project also showcases the artistry of Nevio Zanardi, a Genuan painter and musician who created a striking painting inspired by the music, the character of the count and the noble coat of arms of his family. The booklet contains an essay by Carmela Bongiovanni and a link that gives the listener access to more content, such as a conversation with Davide Mingozzi, which helps to appreciate the relevance of this repertoire.
