On her solo debut album "Indomita", soprano Eleonora Buratto pays homage to the greatest composers and most untamed heroines of 19th-century Italian opera, together with the orchestra and choir of the Carlo Felice Genua Opera under the direction of Sesto Quatrini. For Buratto, these scenes from Bellini's "Il pirata", Donizetti's "Anna Bolena" and "Lucrezia Borgia" and Verdi's "I due Foscari" and "Aroldo" form a core repertoire for any soprano who ventures into the dramatic operas after 1850 in which she currently excels. The combination of agility and power of the untamed women who are portrayed fits perfectly with her voice and the combination of the pieces offers a revealing perspective on the development of Italian opera in the 19th century.
Eleonora Buratto is one of the world's most renowned lyrical sopranos. In addition to the Orchestra & Coro dell'Opera Carlo Felice Genova and conductor Sesto Quatrini, mezzo-soprano Irene Savignano, tenor Didier Pieri and bass Giovanni Battista Parodi also collaborate on "Indomita".
