Néstor Marconi: Moda Tango, Para El Recorrido
The artists on this album, including the famous pianist Martha Argerich, the Oscar-winning musician Luis Bacalov, the violinist of the legendary Piazzolla quintet Fernando Suárez Paz and the bandoneon player Néstor Marconi, represent an example of how tango has been influenced by the many shared experiences. Enrico Fagone managed to bring together artists from different musical worlds, with the implicit intention to celebrate the living material that tango still is.
"Tango has an aura of mystery," Horacio Ferrer once whispered to me. And the eleven of his María de Buenos Aires accompanies us on our pilgrimage, as an eternal guardian, always able to give us a dream and to remind us – once and a thousand times – that tango has the miraculous ability to seem dead, only to come back to life later and laugh at those who thought it had died out.
