Le Quattro Stagioni

Kuijkens recording presents a radically new perspective on the familiar work - and entirely within the framework of historical performance practice! First, the instrumentation here is chamber music, so no part is doubled, and second, instead of a conventional violoncello, a violoncello da spalla, a shoulder cello, is used, which has an effect on the sound.
