Luigi Perrachio: Klavierquintett

The Italian composers Luigi Perrachio and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco were born in the 19th century, but developed their activities in the 20th century. In contrast to many of their contemporaries, both remained committed to tonality. Perrachio spent his life in Turin, where he composed, performed as a pianist and organized concerts. He created numerous works, but published only a few. The piano quintet from 1919 was published in 2022 with the help of pianist David Korevaar. Castelnuovo-Tedesco, driven into exile in America by Mussolini's anti-Jewish legislation, became an important teacher of, among others, John Williams and André Previn.
