Mandoline solo

The 24 Caprices by Nicolò Paganini are considered his masterwork and represent a perfect blend of breathtaking virtuosity and inexhaustible creativity. Like all works by Paganini, these caprices are based on traditional models, but they combine technical virtuosity in a special way with a freedom of creative expression. This has earned them great popularity, both in their original form for solo violin and in transcriptions and arrangements. In this unique performance, mandolin virtuoso Dor Amran plays the caprices with breathtaking technical skill, outstanding musicality and a lively sense of instrumental color. Israeli musician Dor Gidon Amran has performed with various orchestras in Israel. He is also the arranger of the Israeli Mandolin Soloists Ensemble and has worked with various chamber orchestras. He is a multiple grant holder of the AICF and achieved second place at the International Mandolin Competition in Modena, Italy. He plays a mandolin and a mandoncello made by Israeli guitar builder Arik Kerman.
