The rock band Nazareth hit the nail on the head in 1976: Love Hurts. Love, with all its highs and lows, is a prominent theme in music history. And this also applies to the madrigal, a genre that originates in 16th-century Italy and is characterized by enormous expressivity. Madrigals can move people to tears or lead them to heavenly bliss. The collaboration between the ensembles Delle Donne Consort and Paradise Repaired sheds new light on this emotional repertoire, which has remained relatively unknown in our region.
