The Italian pianist and composer Roberto Piana (*1971) follows here in the great Romantic tradition of virtuoso opera fantasias for piano. His two large fantasias, each lasting well over half an hour, on Puccini's La Bohème and Bizet's Carmen are as spectacular as they are substantive virtuoso pieces, which are here performed by Antonio Pompa-Baldi for STEINWAY & SONS with sovereign bravura.
