Piano Twins

"Wilhem Latchoumia and Vanessa Wagner are adventurous pianists whose skills range from standard repertoire to contemporary music. Their duo emerged from the short-lived quartet of pianists that came together for this project when they discovered they shared the same open approach and passion for contemporary music. Here Vanessa Wagner and Wilhem Latchoumia continue their exploration of the repertoire for two pianos, shedding new light on various emblematic works from French music of the early twentieth century. They shed new light on twentieth-century music. They pay tribute to musical impressionism in a programme featuring works by its greatest masters, in which the tight bond, energy and skilled nuances of the artists will appeal to both connoisseurs and newcomers. The primacy of colour over line, the dissolution of the subject, the tendency to dream and the call of distant horizons, hedonism, stillness and the suspension of time, the evocation of images and atmospheres, the predilection for the mysterious and supernatural: these are some of the essential elements of impressionist music, of which Debussy's Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune is the first and most famous example."
