QINscape

This album contains seven chamber music works by contemporary Chinese composer Yao Chen. With the guqin as the central instrument, Yao explores the expressive possibilities of traditional Chinese instruments and cultural heritage, using a contemporary artistic language. These works engage in a dialogue between old and new, East and West, and interweave diverse instrumental sounds with opera elements. At the same time, Yao's poetic musical language and creative vision position themselves at the forefront of contemporary musical expression.
