RECTANGLES AND CIRCUMSTANCE

Nonesuch Records releases Rectangles and Circumstance, an album with ten tracks, written and performed by Caroline Shaw and Sō Percussion. Shaw's vocals are supported by Sō-Eric Cha-Beach, Josh Quillen, Adam Sliwinski and Jason Treuting, with technician and Grammy-winner Jonathan Low (The National, Taylor Swift) co-producing. "Caroline, Eric and I searched for this album nineteenth-century poems that determined the expressive mode and ultimately used verses by Christina Rosetti, Emily Brontë, Emily Dickinson and Gertrude Stein and William Blake", tells Adam Sliwinski. Caroline Shaw moves freely between roles, genres and media. In her compositions she tries to imagine a world of sound that has never been heard before, and at the same time has always existed.
