Spain and the guitar – inseparably connected. Serenades of Spain transcends clichés and reveals the rich musical heritage of both the country and the guitar. The listener travels along three guitars: baroque, romantic and classical – both solo and in duo with voice or cello. With works by Spanish composers and composers inspired by Spain, this album combines Flemish court music from the Renaissance, baroque dances, expressive romanticism, neocasticism, impressionistic colours and folklore – a vibrant mosaic of Spanish music history and the guitar.
