Soprano Rosa Feola, the Cappella Neapolitana and conductor Antonio Florio present with "Son regina e sono amante" a tribute to Niccolo Piccinni, the master of 18th-century Neapolitan opera tradition. The album deliberately omits his most famous work, "La buona figliola", and instead offers arias from his operas in French and Italian style, including some in Neapolitan.
