With Sound Stories, recorder player Stefan Temmingh and harpist Margret Koell tell stories from five centuries, performed on nearly a dozen different recorders and three different harps modeled after historical instruments. The resulting contrasts shed new light on the works—and of course on the instruments for which they were composed. With their selection, a wild, extravagant and at the same time very sensual melange, the two demonstrate an incredible thirst for adventure and great curiosity about musical stories.
