Involvement
Kreisler and Korngold both have their musical roots in Vienna and both had to flee to the US before the Nazis. The two string quartets presented here also possess a poignant Viennese nostalgia. The Angeles String Quartet made an exceptionally good and convincing recording in 1995 for KOCH, which makes a strong case for these two little-known works.
