The Last Rose

It was love at first sight when Mathilde Vialle and Thibaut Roussel first became acquainted with an English bass viol and a Venetian archlute, which are housed in the Paris Music Museum. With a carefully selected program of English music from the second half of the 17th century, they now take on new life in this recording. The extraordinary sounds of the two historical instruments are accompanied by the replica of a Baroque virginals, played by Ronan Khalil, and the tenor of Zachary Wilder.
