The Seasons: January

The Seasons 2.0 is an adventurous, contemporary journey through the year, in which music, poetry, illustration and performance converge into one 360°-art experience. Pianist Marie François reinterprets, in collaboration with VONK & Zonen, Tchaikovsky's 150-year-old concept for modern times. Every four weeks a new interpretation of one of his monthly pieces appears, accompanied by a new poem and a custom-made illustration. Each publication contains a QR code that leads directly to the accompanying music. All poems have been recorded in both Dutch and English, allowing the project to live on both on paper and in sound. Via partners such as De Standaard, Opium (NPO Klassiek), The Bulletin, Pianist Magazine, Poëziekrant and various podcasts and streaming platforms, we are making our way, month after month, steadily and surely towards 2026. From November 2026, theatre performances will complete The Seasons 2.0: twelve listening moments, twelve poems and twelve illustrations that together form a compelling experience – an experience that invites reflection and at the same time helps us move forward.
