Morton Feldman's cycle "The Viola in My Life" consists of four individual compositions that use different combinations of instruments with the viola. The work is a beautiful succession of delicate sounds in which Feldman changes and reshapes time through the interplay of sound and silence. It has made me realize how much this instrument connects me with listening, with patience, with inwardness.
