The Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Thomas Clausen Trio and Jean Thorel present "Symbiosis - Tribute to Bill Evans", a remarkable album that honours the enduring legacy of one of jazz's greatest pianists. The album features three extraordinary works and opens with Palle Mikkelborg's "Bill Evans Suite" (1969), which reinterprets Evans' classics such as "Waltz for Debby" and "Time Remembered". This is followed by Thomas Clausen's highly personal "For Pi", a tender jazz ballad steeped in Evans' spirit, orchestrated for strings and trio, made poignant by Anders Malta's gentle trumpet, as well as Claus Ogerman's "Symbiosis", which is here newly re-arranged for a complete live concert. "Symbiosis - Tribute to Bill Evans" was recorded live with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and offers a vibrant, contemporary perspective on Evans' timeless influence, a blend of intimacy, refinement and orchestral grandeur. This album again showcases the versatility of the orchestra following the acclaimed albums "Mozart: Violin Concertos" (2025), "Butterfly Lovers & Paganini" (2024), "Kozlowski: Requiem" (2024) and "Vivaldi: Four Seasons & Locatelli: Harmonic Labyrinth" (2023).
