Triosonaten

The mere fact that J.S. Bach used Albinoni's themes as the basis for some of his most beautiful fugues and recommended his music to his students as a study model should have helped the Venetian composer to immortal fame. In fact, however, it is a new creation by musicologist Remo Giazotto, which was published in 1958 under the title Adagio in G minor and referred to Albinoni as the alleged source, causing his name to resurface only recently among the great Baroque composers. It is hardly surprising that Albinoni's opus 3 now appears for the first time on historical instruments.
