Trudelies Leonhardt: een niet te missen cd van een ‘grande dame’ van de fortepiano!

Mozart & Haydn. Works for Fortepiano Label Cascavelle — VEL 1693 With all humility I write this as a great admirer and devotee of Trudelies Leonhardt. In the year in which she celebrates her 95th birthday on 30 May, this spellbinding recording appears, on an original Aloys Moser fortepiano from 1796! Mozart's Fantaisie in d minor, K 397 sounds fresh, intensely inhabited and moving. In the Sonata in B-flat major, K 281, the Andante amoroso and Rondo Allegro sing with tender naturalness and almost divine subtlety. The Rondo in D major, K 485 is a pure merveille: clear, lively, natural. Haydn also touches deeply: the Adagio in F major breathes quiet poetry; the Sonata in D major, Hob. XVI/37 surprises with clarity, tranquility and playful vitality. Like her 35 earlier — often award-winning — recordings: a cd to listen to often.
