Violinsonaten Nr.1,5,8

On their second duo album on Signum Classics, Viktoria Mullova and Alasdair Beatson perform Beethoven's Sonatas 6, 1 and 8 with, as in earlier recordings, a copy of a Walter (a Viennese fortepiano) by Paul McNulty from 1805; together with the gut-strung violin, these are instruments that Beethoven's music yearns for, with a rich texture and clear colors between the registers.
