Waldeslust

Debut in the Thicket On its debut CD for CARUS, the excellent Nationaljugendchor under the direction of Anne Kohler explores the forest and nature. There are works to hear that were specially composed for the Bundesjugendchor, such as Ode aan zaagsel by Jan Kopp. There are also compositions for mixed choir a capella to be heard from, among others, Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Schumann, Reger and Ravel. The forest appears not only as a place of silence and longing, but also as a mysterious space and a metaphor for human conscience and our own vulnerability.
