A Musical World Journey

Singers and orchestral musicians associated with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen treat you to a relaxing aperitif concert every month. Great pages from the chamber music repertoire alternate with rarely performed works and forgotten gems. After each concert, there is an opportunity to chat with the musicians. One drink is included with each concert ticket. With Bachianas brasileiras, Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos realized a wonderful fusion of Brazilian folk music and Baroque polyphony in the tradition of Johann Sebastian Bach. The most beloved work from the series, Bachianas brasileiras nr. 5 for soprano and eight cellos, is on the program of a concert in which singers and musicians from the company treat us to music from their native country. A world tour that takes us along Finnish songs by Jean Sibelius, Korean and Iranian music and indeed Argentine tango.
