Jules Reidy – Ghost/Spirit

Jules Reidy brings experimental guitar music in which microtonality, minimalism, folk and electronics converge. With Ghost/Spirit, the Berlin-based artist explores themes such as identity, spirituality and connection in a layered sonic universe. The music of Jules Reidy brings the human experience into glimmering constellations of sound. The guitarist is an important voice in Berlin's contemporary music scene: a versatile artist with a rich discography and international tours, and collaborations with among others Oren Ambarchi and claire rousay. Reidy's recordings and live performances open up their own universe of guitar music. Microtonal structures and alternative tunings, influenced by minimalism and transcendental folk, flow together with distorted pop melodies, sampling and electronic textures. The album Ghost/Spirit was created during a period of personal transformation. With a renewed interest in mysticism and spirituality, Reidy explores shifting ideas about identity, connection and love - both earthly and spiritual.
