Dans
Marc Vanrunxt and Silas Martens investigate the fleeting nature of dance in a playful choreography set to music by Krzysztof Penderecki and Mogwai. A meeting between generations, born from an organic artistic exchange. 'Every rehearsal is a performance, every performance is a rehearsal', goes the motto of choreographer Marc Vanrunxt and young dance talent Silas Martens. The duo met when Martens was studying at the Antwerp Conservatory. (based on a true story) #14 DEATH OF A DISCO DANCER is an attempt to capture the elusive nature of dance. Playful, flowing movements balance at the intersection between dance and choreography, to music by Krzysztof Penderecki and Mogwai. Idiosyncratic and modest, with a penchant for abstraction and punk: for 45 years, Marc Vanrunxt has built his dance practice from contrasts. In September 2025, he received the very first Flemish stage career prize at Het TheaterFestival. For his format (based on a true story), Vanrunxt starts from organic encounters from which creative exchange emerges. The makers present the result everywhere there is an audience - on the street, on the beach, in a foyer, on a roof. And this time in a hall at DE SINGEL.
