Mozart's Clarinet Quintet

Aperitiefconcert
Singers and orchestra members associated with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen treat you monthly to a relaxing aperitif concert. Major pages from chamber music alternate with rarely performed works and forgotten gems. After each concert, there is an opportunity to chat with the musicians. One drink is included in the ticket for each concert. The Clarinet Quintet in A, KV 581 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart belongs to the most intimate and profound works in the oeuvre of the Austrian composer. The incomparable melodic inspiration and the lively interaction between clarinet solo and strings paved the way for the later, romantic clarinet quintets by Brahms and Reger. Alongside Mozart, we find the Czech composer Antonín Dvořák who with his 'American' String Quartet no. 12, written in the States, delivered his most popular work for chamber music.
