Young talent experiments with opera repertoire With Operalab, the International Opera Academy (IOA) launches together with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen a laboratory for expression and innovation, in which a new generation of opera artists prepares to take the stage. Twice a year, the young artists of the IOA are immersed during project weeks in some iconic scenes from the opera repertoire. Together with young directors and conductors, they search for the beating heart of this timeless music and discover what it has to tell us today. They are guided in this by experts from the field. They present the result of their immersion in an intimate performance. In the Operalab series, we get to know the opera professionals of tomorrow and can enjoy some pearls from the repertoire.
