Niccolò Paganini (1782-1840) is a legendary figure in the history of music. He brought about a revolution in violin playing that changed forever the way music was composed for the instrument.Musical contemporaries such as Chopin, Schubert and Schumann, were staggered by the violinist’s great artistry, as were the poets Goethe and Heine. The young Dutch violinist Bob van der Ent has received wide acclaim for his impeccable technique, seasoned interpretations and characteristic style. With these recordings of Paganini’s 24 caprices, Bob van der Ent has become the first Dutch violinist of his generation – and one of just a few in the world – to have released the entire cycle.
