The extraordinary American violinist Berl Senofsky (1926-2002), was thrust into the international spotlight in June of 1955, taking the grand prize of the 1955 Queen Elisabeth of Belgium International Competition. One of the jury members, Zino Francescatti, wrote that "Senofsky is a complete artist: great musicality, beautiful tone, astounding technique."
